Pediatric Orthopedics :
Pediatric orthopedics is a specialized field focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of orthopedic conditions in children, addressing their unique musculoskeletal needs to support proper growth and development.
Our pediatric orthopedic team is skilled in managing congenital, developmental, and acquired conditions affecting bones, joints, and muscles. One of the common conditions treated is congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV), also known as clubfoot, where the foot is twisted out of shape or position. Through techniques like the Ponseti method, braces, and surgical interventions when needed, we aim to correct deformities and restore normal function.
Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), another key focus, involves abnormal development of the hip joint. Early diagnosis using advanced imaging techniques and timely management, including bracing or surgical correction, is crucial to prevent long-term complications such as arthritis or mobility issues.
Our team also addresses lower limb alignment disorders, including genu valgum (knock knees), genu varum (bowlegs), and genu recurvatum (knee hyperextension). These conditions can affect gait, posture, and overall biomechanics. Treatments range from observation and physical therapy to corrective braces or surgical interventions, depending on the severity and the child’s age.
In addition to these conditions, the department is well-equipped to handle other orthopedic concerns, including fractures, limb length discrepancies, and scoliosis. We emphasize a comprehensive approach, combining advanced diagnostics, non-surgical therapies, and surgical expertise to achieve the best outcomes for our young patients.
With a commitment to individualized care, our pediatric orthopedic team works closely with families to develop tailored treatment plans. Our goal is to enhance mobility, correct deformities, and improve the overall quality of life, enabling children to grow and thrive with confidence.
